Orange Sierra Leone has undertaken a network upgrade programme in Freetown.

Orange Sierra Leone has undertaken a network upgrade programme to improve the quality of voice and data services to customers, it has said.

In a public notice, the telco announced that upgrades have been completed at sites in Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone.

Further upgrades at telecom sites across the country’s four provinces are to follow.

The upgrades come on the heels of 5G tests, which were conducted in Freetown in October 2023.

Orange has warned customers that they may experience quality of service issues and service interruption due to the network swap.

However, the telco has said it is taking steps to minimise interruptions to the network amid the upgrades.

“We assure all our customers that we are taking all measures to limit the impact,” said the notice from Orange.
