Two months after cybersecurity brand McAfee Enterprise merged with FireEye to launch Trellix, a second venture - Skyhigh Security, has been introduced to the market.

Skyhigh Security is McAfee Enterprise’s former cloud division. Like Trellix, Skyhigh Security will focus on extended detection and response (XDR) and Secure Service Edge (SSE), but also on meeting the growing cloud security requirements among large and small organisations.

Gee Rittenhouse, who previously led Cisco’s cyber security business, will serve as CEO, and according to Skyhigh Security’s parent company Symphony Technology Group (STG), will bring deep cloud security expertise to the business.

William Chisholm, managing partner of STG, said, “Skyhigh Security has emerged as a dedicated cloud security company that is laser-focused on propelling businesses forward with a comprehensive and converged approach to data security. The Skyhigh Security SSE Portfolio includes Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Zero Trust Access Network (ZTNA), Cloud Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Remote Browser Isolation technology, Cloud Firewall and Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP).
