SA's Rectron adds Microsoft CSP to cloud portfolio

South African ICT products distributor Rectron has announced the addition of Microsoft's Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme to its portfolio, to help clients drive their Microsoft cloud businesses.

Elaine Wang, Cloud, and Software Solutions Director at Rectron says, "In a business environment where companies, big and small, are migrating to the cloud, it's more important than ever for resellers to offer a strong solution to their clients. We're extremely excited about this addition to our portfolio."

Via a statement, the company notes that the introduction of the CSP offers significant value to the South African channel, "Not only as it increases their access to Microsoft cloud services, but also because it enables them to integrate these services with other cloud services, unlocking additional revenue streams such as configuration, migration and SLAs, all offered on a single invoice."

"A game changer for SMBs as well, the programme allows for businesses to pay a monthly fee for their cloud licences instead of the traditional annual fee, freeing up their cash flow."

The company says often cloud transformation amongst resellers is hindered by the lack of skills to migrate and deploy.

Spencer Chen, Managing Director of Rectron, says one of Rectron's top priorities over the past three years has been the growth of its software and cloud portfolio.

In June, the company acquired a majority stake in ERP software development company Palladium for an undisclosed amount in a bid to strengthen its software proposition in the South African channel.

Chen says, "Our recent acquisition of Palladium Business Solutions, together with this important Microsoft appointment, mark an acceleration of our journey, and we look forward to helping the channel transition with us in order to remain profitable in this digital age."

"Rectron has proven to be a strong player in the Microsoft cloud space. We are now building on our strong foundation and ability to scale to untapped markets in order to grow the Microsoft CSP business," concludes Wang.
