Zambia turns to tech to deliver public services
Zambia has unveiled the Public Service Change Management Framework (PSCMF) as the country enhances the services it provides to residents.
The transition is the brainchild of the Smart Zambia Institute, the administration's e-government branch, which reports to the president.
Following the launch of the PSCMF, citizens can now pay for government services via digital platforms, a big step towards efficient and corrupt-free service delivery, said secretary to the cabinet Patrick Kangwa, who was guest of honour the event late Tuesday.
“The launch is part of the government's efforts to adapt to the evolving landscape of technological innovations and citizen expectations,” Kangwa said in the capital, Lusaka.
Kangwa emphasised the need for the civil service to drive development, improve livelihoods and facilitate private sector growth and job creation.
Kusobile Kamwambi, head of the Presidential Delivery Unit underscored the importance of the framework.
“It could not have come at a better time,” Kamwambi said.
