M-PESA exceeds $450 billion in transaction value

The telco says the offering enables customers to control, grow, and manage their assets and wealth through free deposits and withdrawals from their M-PESA wallet.

In the current reporting period, M-PESA contributed 42.9% of Safaricom's service revenue, totalling $600.09 million.

The telco recorded considerable customer growth, up 47.3% in the six months ending September.

According to the two entities, the partnership would provide digital solutions to help SMEs increase their online credibility and visibility.

The company pointed out that during the year, it demonstrated significant resilience in delivering outstanding growth in both the top and bottom lines.

The telco announced yesterday  it will provide $77,518 to the hospital's Disaster Response Center and $38,759 in assistance devices to the injured.

M-PESA has 26,200 agents and 43,100 merchants, according to the company's third quarter 2023 update.

Safaricom Ethiopia announced the total transaction value since the company's inception two months ago is now $288 million (Ksh. 43.7 billion).
