ZTE Corporation and MTN Uganda have celebrated the 10th anniversary of their Managed Services partnership that has shaped Uganda’s telecommunications landscape.
The tech and telecoms giants marked the decade-long success story with a fresh commitment to deepen collaboration through AI-driven solutions aimed at boosting customer experience, intelligent broadband and network automation for a more connected and inclusive Uganda.
The event, held in Kampala, brought together senior leaders and executives from both organisations to honour the 10-year journey of shared progress in network innovation, reliability, and customer experience.
Over the last decade, ZTE and MTN Uganda have jointly built what ZTE described as “one of the region’s most advanced, reliable, and future-ready telecom networks.”
The partnership has significantly expanded the nationwide network reach, strengthened performance, and enhanced the user experience, achievements that have helped MTN Uganda consistently rank No. 1 in Net Promoter Scores within the MTN Group.
ZTE highlighted that one of the landmark achievements of the collaboration was the launch of Uganda’s first Service Operations Center (SOC) for MTN Uganda.
“The SOC has transformed network management to enable smarter, faster, and more proactive operations. This focus has earned strong recognition and the trust of millions of users,” the company said in a statement posted on LinkedIn.
The SOC, powered by advanced analytics and automation, allows MTN Uganda to identify and address network issues in real time, a move that has improved operational efficiency and service reliability.
ZTE also used the event to commend the teams behind the partnership’s success.
“We extend special recognition to the dedicated ZTE Uganda team, led by CEO Wang Lou and DCEO Yuan Yuzhan, whose unwavering commitment has been vital to our shared success,” the tech giant stated.
As the partnership enters its next chapter, ZTE reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its collaboration with MTN Uganda through AI-powered solutions for intelligent broadband and autonomous networks.
“ZTE will remain MTN Uganda’s trusted partner in achieving a fully connected, intelligent, and inclusive Uganda,” the company added.
ZTE stressed that as Uganda accelerates its digital transformation agenda, the decade-long partnership reflects how global technology leaders and local telecom operators can jointly drive innovation and inclusivity across Africa’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
