Zimbabwean motorists who violate traffic regulations will be identified through the Electronic Traffic Management System.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is embracing the Electronic Traffic Management System to identify motorists who violate traffic lights regulations in Harare Central Business District.

In a statement, ZRP has listed recorded 290 vehicle registration numbers belonging to motorists who have allegedly violated traffic lights regulations.

The police say the use of technology will crackdown reckless driving and has urged motorists to adopt lawful driving habits and promote road safety. Additionally, owners of the listed vehicle registrations have been ordered to report to ZRP within seven days.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that with the advent of technology in policing, the days of reckless driving by motorists are coming to an end. Drivers are reminded to be law abiding citizens and collectively contribute towards road safety,” said the ZRP.
