In a bid to position Zambia as a leader in Africa's digital revolution, the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) has released its 2025-2027 strategic plan, an ambitious roadmap for the country's digital future.

This follows the introduction of two bills aimed at electronic transactions and cyber security: the Electronic Communications and Transactions (Amendment) Bill (2025) and the Postal Services (Repeal) Bill (2025).

According to Felix Chipota Mutati, minister of technology and science, who presided at the unveiling in Lusaka on Wednesday, the new strategic plan aims to position ICTAZ as a crucial partner in promoting innovation and professionalising the ICT sector.

The plan is structured around five main pillars that aim to maximise member value, impact, and growth over the next two to three years.

Mutati emphasised the government's commitment to promoting an environment where digital technology and innovation may thrive, recognising its role as a "catalyst to economic transformation."

He additionally said the initiative is not only significant for the association but also for the broader goal of advancing Zambia's digital transformation agenda.
