Zambia is accelerating service delivery via innovation and inclusiveness, as the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services announced three strategic digital guidelines on Wednesday.
The documents, the Ministerial Digital Strategy, the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Guidelines, and the ICT Security Guidelines, recognise the significance of good service delivery in the context of ongoing digital transformation, said the Ministry.
During the launch, minister of community development and social services, Doreen Mwamba, stressed the necessity of vigilance and proactive actions in the digital age.
“Technology is no longer a luxury; it is a necessity for building an inclusive, transparent, and efficient social protection system that leaves no one behind,” she said.
The minister further emphasised that the three documents are consistent with the 2023 National ICT Policy, the Electronic Government Act No. 41 of 2021, and the National E-Government Plan, all of which promote the government's overarching goal of transforming Zambia into a digital economy.
She also thanked the World Bank and the Smart Zambia Institute, the initiative's Cooperating Partners, for their technical and financial support.
Percy Chinyama, Smart Zambia's national coordinator, underscored his team's commitment to advancing the Ministry's digital agenda for more efficient and effective service delivery.
