Zambia and the Czech Republic are enhancing bilateral collaboration in technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
The partnership was reiterated at the recent Tech4Zambia Innovation Forum, which brought together key Zambian and Czech stakeholders to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The program focused on bringing innovative ideas into real outcomes in fields such as agriculture, energy, health, the environment, governance, and digital transformation.
The session featured engaging presentations and discussions that demonstrated Czech and Zambian partnership in developing local capacity, technological transfer, and innovation-driven economic growth.
Jiri Kyrian , ambassador of the Czech Republic to Zambia, reinforced the two countries' partnership in innovation, agriculture, health, and the environment, stressed technology transfer and local capacity building as central to sustainable development.
Also, he emphasized the use of satellite technology, artificial intelligence, drones, and clean energy to address local challenges.
Furthermore, the ambassador underscored the importance of education and scholarships, offering 20–25 Zambian students opportunities annually at Czech universities.
Brilliant Habeenzu, Zambia permanent secretary for technology and science, commended the Czech-Zambia partnership as a platform for co-creation and innovation.
“Stakeholders must engage with purpose and openness to make Tech4Zambia a catalyst for inclusive growth,” Habeenzu said.
