Payment technology major MasterCard has appointed Yasemin Bedir as president of its Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region, effective 1 September.
Bedir assumes responsibility for driving the strategy, direction and overall performance of operations across the 81-market region from her base in the UAE.
Joining the firm’s global management committee, she succeeds Dimitrios Dosis, who transitions to the role of chief commercial payments officer to oversee commercial and new payment flows.
As EEMEA continues to evolve, Bedir will focus on expanding regional growth, deepening partnerships with fintechs, financial institutions, governments, retailers and businesses, while advancing payment innovations.
A veteran with nearly 20 years at MasterCard, Bedir brings extensive international leadership experience to the position.
Bedir joined MasterCard in 2007, serving in various global executive roles, including general manager of operations in Turkey and Azerbaijan, before managing relationships with community institutions and processors in North America for nearly five years.
