Workonline Communications offers free IPv6 transit to ISPs

Johannesburg, 11 Jun 2015

In a move to accelerate the deployment of IPv6 in Africa, leading specialised terrestrial network service provider Workonline Communications is offering 100 Mbps of free IPv6 transit to qualifying AfriNIC LIR members.

The announcement was made at an AfriNIC IPv6 training session, jointly hosted by Workonline Communications and Teraco Data Environments in Johannesburg last week,
where delegates were trained in the operation and deployment of IPv6 networks.

IPv6 is the latest version of the Internet Protocol, and features a vastly expanded address space to provide for the needs of the rapidly growing number of Internet connected devices around the world. Workonline hopes to facilitate skills development and improve operational knowledge of the new protocol within the African service provider community, by providing zero-cost interconnection for African networks with the global IPv6 Internet.

The offer by Workonline is available at the Teraco data centre facilities in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. Interested parties should contact sales@workonline.co.za for further details.
