Vodacom’s Pieter Uys will no longer call the shots at the cellphone network provider as from March 2013.
Uys announced that he would be resigning from his position as chief executive officer after some 20 years in the company, four of which were spent as the chief executive.
“I have had a fantastic two decades with Vodacom and will cherish many happy memories. It's now time for change,” he said in a statement.
He was appointed company boss back in 2008, where he replaced Vodacom’s first CEO, Alan Knott Craig Senior, who later moved to Cell C after a brief retirement.
The former boss will now be replaced by Shameel Joosub the former Vodacom SA, managing director.
