Vietnam-headquartered technology and IT services firm FPT Corporation has expanded its footprint by establishing an office in Egypt.

Marking its first hub in Africa and its 100th office globally, the move expands the company's operations to over 30 countries, building on its global delivery network, supporting enterprises across multiple industries.

According to the company on Wednesday, the expansion aims to enhance client engagement through improved time-zone alignment, expand access to digital talent, and address increasing demand for technology services across the region.

The move coincides with the Egyptian government’s Digital Egypt initiative, a national strategy designed to accelerate digital transformation and attract foreign investment. By reducing operational friction for foreign direct investment, the strategy aims to boost the country’s standing as a regional IT outsourcing hub.

Through the new centre, FPT will focus on providing services spanning AI, data analytics, cloud, SAP/ERP, and embedded software. These will target key industries including banking, financial services and insurance, automotive, utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications, and logistics.

Situated in Cairo Festival City, one of the region's leading business and technology hubs, FPT’s new facility enables it to tap into the Nile Nation’s strategic location connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), alongside its young technology workforce.

Beyond footprint expansion, this investment is expected to contribute to Egypt's dynamic technology ecosystem by creating hundreds of international career opportunities for local professionals, said the company.

Looking ahead, FPT plans to grow its Egypt workforce to approximately 200 employees within the first two years and more than 500 engineers over the longer term.

"With AI reshaping how technology is built and delivered, enterprises are seeking partners that can combine industry expertise, innovation, and consistent execution at scale. Our expansion in Egypt brings FPT's AI leadership closer to clients and partners across the region, enabling us to co-create value, foster deeper relationships, and drive sustainable growth,” said Phuong Dang, FPT Software senior executive vice president.
