In a wide-ranging discussion, ITWeb Africa editor, Samuel Mungadze, recently chatted to Backbone Connectivity Nigeria’s CEO, Ibrahim Dikko, about digital transformation in telecoms, fibre projects in Nigeria, the digital economy, and aligning telco laws across Africa.

Backbone Connectivity Network’s coverage spans Nigeria and beyond; specifically, the company has over 1,000 km of wholly-owned fibre infrastructure across the country's north-central and north-eastern regions. Founded in 2004, Backbone Connectivity Network is licenced by the Nigerian Communication Commission to provide metropolitan fibre access and national long-distance services. It also holds licences to offer Internet Services and Unified Communication Solutions.

Recorded on the sidelines of African Telecoms Digital Transformation Strategy Summit, held in Cape Town in September 2023, the footage is courtesy of Novacom Summits, while the video has been produced by ITWeb.
