Angola’s first ever triple play offering -- which incorporates voice, internet and television services -- has been launched by local telco Angola Telecom.

The launch of the $2.5 million project is as a result of a partnership between between Angola Telecom and Angolan television company TV Cabo.

About 3,180 residences in the city of Kilamba are planned to have access to the service in the first phase.

Meanwhile, subscribers of the service have a choice among packages ranging from 43 to 96 television channels, according to Angola Telecom executive director Naiole Santos.

Santos reportedly added that the whole Kilamba city could be covered by the service in 2014 to reach more than 7,000 subscribers.
