TikTok removed 884,591 videos in Kenya during the first quarter of 2026 for violating its Community Guidelines, according to the platform's latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.

The company said 99.7% of the videos were removed proactively before users reported them, while 96.3% were taken down within 24 hours of posting.

TikTok attributed the figures to continued investment in automated detection systems and rapid response mechanisms.

The platform also removed 48,739 accounts in Kenya suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13, breaching its Community Guidelines designed to protect younger users.

Globally, TikTok removed 184 million videos during the quarter, representing about 0.5% of all content uploaded to the platform.

Of these, 178 million were detected and removed using automated technologies, while 8.8 million were reinstated following further review.

The platform recorded a global proactive removal rate of 99.3%, with 94.4% of flagged content removed within 24 hours.

The report, released on Thursday, also highlighted growing enforcement activity on TikTok LIVE.

In Kenya, TikTok interrupted 103,847 LIVE rooms for violating its Community Guidelines during the quarter.

Globally, the company took enforcement action, including warnings and demonetisation, against 58.2 million LIVE sessions and 22 million LIVE creators for breaching its LIVE monetisation guidelines.

The company said warnings are intended to give creators an opportunity to adjust their content before facing stronger enforcement action.

TikTok also removed 14,261 AI-generated or edited-media videos globally during the quarter.

The platform requires realistic AI-generated content to be labelled using both creator-facing labelling tools and automated detection models.

It applies C2PA Content Credentials, a cross-industry standard for AI transparency, and said it has joined the C2PA Steering Committee to help drive broader adoption of the technology.

The company said its labelling efforts have now covered more than three billion videos.

TikTok said it continues to combine automated moderation tools with human trust and safety teams to enforce its Community Guidelines against harmful content, including misinformation and hate speech, at scale.
