Tigo Tanzania launched its fibre-to-the-home and fibre-to-the-business Internet service yesterday.

At the event, John Sicilima, Chief Business officer, Tigo Tanzania, and Anna Loya, head of brand and communications, said the launch of Tigo Fibre marks the first time in Tanzania that fibre-to-the-home and fibre-to-the-business services will be made available.

The service will initially be available in Mbweni and its surrounding areas in Dar es Salaam, followed by other regions of the country.

Tigo's fibre launch comes as Africa sees growing deployment of fibre optic lines in metropolitan areas. This boom in Internet infrastructure has ushered in a new era of connectivity, providing consumers and companies with faster, more dependable broadband services.

The company directed customers to its customer service number and WhatsApp to find out more about plans, pricing, and the set-up process.
