A new general manager for TiGo Ghana is to arrive in the country next month, says the operator’s owners - the Millicom Group.
Adil El Youssefi, who has been General Manager of Millicom Chad since January last year, is set to replace Carlos Caceres, who plans to continue his studies in the US. Caceres worked at TiGo’s Ghana office since December 2006.
The Millicom Group has not disclosed as to why Caceres is leaving TiGo Ghana. Caceres is leaving TiGo Ghana at a time when it is third largest mobile operator in Ghana: the company has lost its second place position in that market to Vodafone Ghana.
Youssefi joined the Millicom Group in December 2008 as the head of value added services for TiGo Sri Lanka until November 2009. He then moved to Chad as deputy general manager and chief operating officer until January last year, when he became the general manager for TiGo’s operations in that country.
He is leaving behind TiGo Chad with over 1.9 million subscribers as at the end of the first quarter of 2012.
