ABI Research says that by the end of 2018 half of Africa’s population is forecast to be covered by LTE networks.

Moreover, the research firm says demand could grow dramatically for LTE smart devices as their prices fall, resulting in over 50 million potential LTE subscriptions on the continent.

However, it has only been in the last two years that ten African countries have had LTE launches.

ITWeb Africa has covered most of these launches and we have therefore put together a list of countries and telecom firms that have introduced LTE networks in Africa.
