Telecom Namibia has extended the appointment of Armando Perny as acting CEO for a further six months, from 1 August 2026 to 31 January 2027.
The extension is aimed at ensuring leadership continuity during the transition period.
Perny assumed the role following the resignation of Dr Stanley Shanapinda, who ended his five-year tenure to take up a new position as executive secretary and CEO of the Communications Regulators’ Association of Southern Africa on 1 July 2026.
In his new role, Shanapinda oversees the harmonisation of telecommunications, broadcasting and postal regulatory frameworks across the Southern African Development Community.
Telecom Namibia said Perny’s continued leadership will support stability as the company advances its strategic priorities and operational performance.
Perny, the company’s chief marketing officer since 2019, has overseen operations during the leadership transition.
“The board remains confident in the leadership team’s ability to execute Telecom Namibia’s strategy while maintaining focus on customer experience, operational efficiency, innovation and stakeholder value,” the company said.
Telecom Namibia said it remains committed to strengthening its network, expanding digital connectivity and supporting Namibia’s socio-economic development through telecommunications and ICT services.
