Telecel Ghana, the country’s third-largest telco, has launched the eighth edition of its flagship SME Month, which it runs every September.

This year’s edition, themed ‘Connecting the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs’, is focused on youth-led businesses that the telco says are breaking barriers and reimagining Ghana’s economic future.

“At Telecel, we believe the future of Ghana’s economy lies in the hands of young business leaders who are harnessing technology, fresh ideas, and innovative models to solve real challenges,” said Tawa Bolarin, director of Enterprise Business and Wholesale.

“SME Month 2025 is designed to provide platforms, networks, and opportunities that enable them to scale.”

The mobile operator, with over 7.3 million subscribers, said yesterday the project highlights the telco’s drive to serve SMEs with technology as an engine of growth. Small businesses fuel nearly 90% of all enterprises in the country.

The teclo’s offering includes training sessions, new digital tools and bundles for SMEs.

“Our suite of SME uplifting tools includes The Boss Plan with affordable data and SMS marketing, One Business Mobile with bundled connectivity and business emails, and Your Business Online Reloaded with upgraded website packages,” she said.

Young entrepreneur Zuu Gbedemah, co-founder of Stay by Plan Media, said: “It’s not easy running a business in Ghana, so I’m glad that Telecel has created packages to ease our burden. As a digital media entrepreneur, the Internet is the bedrock of our business, so affordable connectivity is extremely helpful.”
