Global tech giants will join forces with South Africa’s top public and private sector leaders, along with the T20, to co-create the jobs of the future for youth.

With a strong focus on youth employment, digital skills, and scalable job creation, companies like SAP, Adcorp, DP World, Workday, and FNB are set to unveil strategies to develop and retain talent in an increasingly competitive global digital economy.

SAP will spotlight its globally recognised Educate to Employ and Young Professionals Programmes, which have already equipped thousands of young Africans with vital digital skills and career opportunities.

These initiatives aim to build an inclusive talent pipeline that supports both local innovation and global competitiveness.

The Future of Jobs Summit, led by the Future Leader Forum and its founder Dr. Nik Eberl, promises to be more than just another policy talk shop.

“This summit will bring together CEOs, ministers, labour leaders, skills providers, and community champions with one goal: creating a sustainable and inclusive South African workforce. Youth unemployment is the greatest threat to our democracy — and our greatest opportunity to unlock national prosperity. This summit is about building real partnerships that deliver real solutions at scale,” said Dr Eberl.

With backing from the G20-T20 Engagement Track, the summit is an official T20 Side Event — linked to the think tank of South Africa’s G20 Presidency — and will directly feed into global policy discussions.

A formal Summit Outcomes Report, capturing key job creation strategies and public-private pledges, will be presented to the Office of the Presidency, Parliament, and the G20 Plenary in November 2025.

Dr Eberl emphasised that the summit will also highlight South Africa’s Global Business Services (GBS) sector as a model for success.

“With over 150,000 youth jobs created and a target of 500,000 by 2030, GBS is a powerful example of how government, industry, and training providers can align for impact,” he said.

The event will feature leadership roundtables, panel discussions, and the launch of a National Jobs Dashboard to track commitments and progress. Sectoral success stories from tech, tourism, renewable energy, and the care economy will be shared.

“We are building a movement of hope. The Future of Jobs Summit is about giving our youth a future worth staying for — and showing the world that South Africa is ready to lead,” stated Dr Eberl.
