Telecommunications operator T2, formerly 9mobile, has entered a multi-million-dollar partnership with India’s Knot Solutions to overhaul its Business and Operations Support Systems (BSS/OSS), a move aimed at repositioning the company for growth in Nigeria’s competitive telecoms sector.
The deal was unveiled by T2’s CEO Obafemi Banigbe, during a signing ceremony at the GITEX Nigeria Tech Expo and Future Economy Conference in Lagos.
He said the partnership is a key component of part of the company’s four-phase transformation strategy: stabilisation, modernisation, transformation, and growth.
“This structured approach underscores our commitment to restoring competitiveness, driving customer-focused innovation, and enabling Nigeria’s digital future,” said Banigbe.
He noted that T2’s vision goes beyond upgrading its systems, describing the agreement as a customer-first revolution that would redefine digital experiences for millions of Nigerians. T2, he added, is evolving into a broader platform offering voice, data, financial services, content, cloud, and lifestyle solutions.
Knot Solutions’ CEO Sumanth Konuru, said Africa’s telecoms industry is rapidly evolving, with BSS/OSS modernisation playing a critical role.
He explained that through its RaptrDXP cloud-native platform, T2 will be able to deliver more personalised, seamless services - from real-time billing to customised bundles.
The announcement comes at a time when Nigeria’s telecoms industry continues to attract fresh investments to meet soaring demand for data and digital services.
The company is now pursuing an aggressive revival plan anchored on global technology partnerships. In the ending of August 2025, T2 also signed another multi-million-dollar agreement with Huawei to modernise its core network.
