Sui, a global cryptocurrency and blockchain platform, has launched a hub in Nigeria to support the growing developer and blockchain community in West Africa.
The SuiHub Lagos is the company's fourth hub, after Dubai, Vietnam, and Athens. According to the organisation, the facility will serve as a springboard for new ideas as well as a collaborative environment for developers and entrepreneurs to get access to Sui's global network and resources.
Sui went on to note that Nigeria has a robust developer ecosystem, including a bustling start-up culture, a rapidly expanding crypto and fintech sector, and increased institutional regulatory interest in blockchain technologies, making it an appealing location for the hub.
The hub will conduct regular workshops, educational sessions, and demo days, as well as connect local builders to international mentors, partners, and funding opportunities. Its operations will extend beyond Nigeria to Ghana and Kenya.
“Lagos is home to one of the most energetic tech communities in the world right now. By creating a space to collaborate, learn, and build, Sui is giving talented developers in Lagos the infrastructure and support to build on Sui and create solutions that will have a significant global impact,” said Christian Thompson, Sui Foundation managing director.
