Seacom appoints MD for MEA digital infrastructure unit

Kevin Kaburu has been appointed as the new Seacom digital infrastructure East Africa and Middle East managing director.

Seacom, a pan-African ICT enabler, announced today the appointment of Kevin Kaburu as its new digital infrastructure East Africa and Middle East managing director, effective June 1, 2025.

Seacom digital infrastructure division owns and runs one of Africa's largest ICT infrastructure networks, which include various subsea cables, a continent-wide IP-MPLS network, and fibre networks across the continent.

According to the company, Kaburu has over 15 years of experience in telecommunications and business-to-business in technology sector.

It further stated that he has a proven track record in infrastructure sales, strategic partnerships, and regional business expansion across the continent..

His leadership experiences at China Mobile International and Wananchi Telecom have provided him with extensive experience in establishing high-performing teams, driving revenue development, and completing challenging infrastructure projects across the continent, according to Seacom.

The company went on to explain that Parag Patil will continue to lead Seacom Digital Services, which will develop the company business in East Africa by delivering innovative cloud, security, and managed services that enable digital transformation for its clients.
