RCA and Tactile deploy Elo healthcare products

Johannesburg, 03 Dec 2014

Tactile Technologies, the official and sole distributor of Elo Touch Solutions in sub-Saharan Africa, today announced that RCA, a distributor of capital equipment and related surgical consumables for the medical industry, has recently partnered with them as a reseller/integrator of their Elo medical grade touch monitors.

"Among the devices that we supply to the medical profession is a patient monitor that monitors all essential vital signs required in an intensive care unit. The Elo touch monitors serve as a display screen and user-interface and are recommended by the provider of the software that we utilise in this solution," commented Paul Stevens, divisional director at RCA. "The touch monitors provide quicker monitoring management, a reduction in time on equipment handling and an increase in time with the patient under care."

"Touch screens are the technology of today and the solutions incorporating these devices have been very well received by medical staff and practitioners," continued Stevens, "and we already have over 50 units successfully in use at two sites. We believe this is just the beginning of exploiting the latest technology in these types of environments and we welcome the opportunity to be part of this new initiative."

"Elo Touch Solutions offers a wide product portfolio to deliver new and innovative touch solutions for healthcare. Elo's healthcare products are built to comply with technical standards for the safety, essential performance and effectiveness of today's medical electrical equipment" concluded Mauro Mercuri, group director of Tactile Technologies. "We are delighted to have RCA in a market as one of our partners in the healthcare sector and look forward to a long and successful relationship with them going forward."
