Rawbank is expanding its digital banking services in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) through an enhanced partnership with global software company SBS.
The bank is adopting the SBS Digital Banking Suite as part of its digital transformation strategy.
The platform is designed to simplify customers’ digital banking journeys, according to SBS.
SBS describes the platform as flexible and scalable.
The companies say it will support more intuitive mobile and web applications, greater autonomy in remote account management and shorter waiting times, particularly for online account opening and card and payment management.
“Technological innovation is a key lever of our development strategy,” said Arvind Kumar, chief information officer at Rawbank, said.
Kumar said the SBS Digital Banking Suite would strengthen the bank’s ability to provide simpler and more accessible services.
“This platform will allow us to speed up the launch of new features, deliver an enriched digital experience and pursue our ambition of making financial services accessible to as many people as possible in the DRC,” Kumar said.
Rawbank said it intends to continue modernising its digital services to meet changing customer needs.
Hassan Nasser, deputy general manager, digital engagement at SBS, said the partnership combines the bank’s core banking capabilities with a digital platform designed for modern customer needs.
“It is precisely this combination that allows a bank to establish itself as the benchmark in digital banking in Central Africa, drawing on both a detailed understanding of the local market and world-class technological capabilities,” Nasser said.
