The company says the centre will offer state-of-the-art services to Zambia-based businesses, but also to multinationals that operate in the country.
In April the company confirmed its intention to open up the resource, adding that the 1-megawatt (MW) facility will leverage the latest physical and virtual security to ensure the secure storage, protection, and management of data.

As a multinational, considering the off-site move to a datacentre may seem like an immense task, but according to Paratus Zambia, moving data off-site to a fully secured facility not only guarantees enhanced processing and protection of data, but offers redundancies on connectivity, power, cooling and features fire suppression and security capabilities with which traditional onsite setups could struggle.
The carrier neutral facility will offer various physical and virtual hosting services as well as opportunities for Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to help provide high-availability, faster performance, and security to websites within Zambia and in the region.
