Orange Egypt has signed an exclusive partnership with Enjaz Payment Services, one of Saudi Arabia’s largest fintech firms, expanding digital financial inclusion and supporting one of the country’s most important remittance corridors
The deal is set to unlock a seamless and fee-free money transfer service from the Kingdom to Egypt through the Orange Cash wallet.
Ahmed El Abd, chief consumer business officer at Orange Egypt, said the collaboration positions Orange Cash as a central player in international remittances, expanding its reach to one of Egypt’s most critical remittance corridors.
He underlined that Saudi Arabia is home to millions of Egyptian expatriates, and the new service allows them to send funds instantly to Orange Cash wallets, with zero transfer fees and a cashback reward of $10.30 (EGP 500) for recipients.
“Partnering with Enjaz allows us to strengthen our digital financial ecosystem while supporting Egypt’s financial inclusion and digital transformation goals.
This will encourage more people to adopt secure digital channels, making international transfers faster, safer, and more convenient for families,” said El Abd.
Remittances are a lifeline for Egypt, contributing more than $31 billion annually to the economy, according to World Bank data. Similarly, remittances play a vital role across Africa, helping households fund education, healthcare, and daily living expenses while reducing poverty.
By cutting costs and simplifying access, Orange Cash is positioning itself as a trusted bridge between African diasporas and their families back home.
Bassam Al-Eidi, CEO of Enjaz, emphasised that Orange Cash already enables cross-border transfers from Jordan, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, and Oman. The addition of Saudi Arabia, the largest source of remittances to Egypt, marks a major milestone.
“This collaboration strengthens our digital presence and creates real value for customers. By joining forces with Orange Egypt, we are not only facilitating remittances but driving financial inclusion across the region,” he said.
Orange already serves over 33 million customers in Egypt and more than 142 million across Africa and the Middle East, giving it a powerful platform to scale mobile money services. With digital wallets like Orange Cash gaining traction, El Abd is confident that remittance-driven innovations could accelerate Africa’s shift to cashless economies.
“Our goal is simply to make financial services more accessible, inclusive, and impactful for everyday life in Egypt and beyond,” said.
