Orange Sierra Leone has named Aïcha Touré as its new CEO, ushering in a new chapter for the company.

The outgoing CEO, Sekou Amadou Bah, welcomed her and led her on a tour of the company's facilities, which included the Orange digital Centre, technical divisions, and employee meet-and-greet sessions.

Touré has more than 12 years of expertise in the telecom, technology, and financial services sectors.

“Since joining the Orange Group in 2017 as chief strategy and innovation officer at Orange Mali, she has led transformative projects, including the rollout of 4G, expansion of fibre infrastructure, and broader access to energy,” said the telco in a statement.

The company went on to say that in 2019, she took over as CEO of Orange Money Mali, steering the company to become the national leader in financial inclusion.

Toure holds a Masters in engineering from Centrale Supélec and an executive MBA from MIT, where she was a Sloan Fellow.

The company said: “She is passionate about leveraging digital innovation to drive inclusive growth and economic empowerment across Africa.”
