The Nigerian Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced 16 technology companies to help taxpayers transition to its e-invoicing platform ahead of the extended compliance deadline of November 1, 2025.
The Merchant Buyer Solution is a structured digital invoicing platform for business-to-business, consumer, and government transactions.
It is intended to replace traditional paper or unstructured e-invoices, improving tax compliance, streamlining operations, and increasing transparency in tax administration.
FIRS acting director of Tax Automation, Mike Adoga, announced the service providers at a two-day workshop in Lagos. He said the firms certified by the National Information Technology Development Agency met stringent requirements such as nationwide service coverage, security, neutrality, and cross-sector capacity.
Adoga emphasised that taxpayers are free to pick or switch suppliers if they are dissatisfied, and warned that any firm found to be in breach of service standards would be delisted.
“If you sense any breach or problem in dealing with anyone, please reach out to the FIRS team,” he told stakeholders.
The Lagos workshop was aimed at providing practical assistance on taxpayer enablement, integration processes, and real-time invoice transmission, as well as introduces certified service providers through live technical demos.
