Nigeria’s government has begun a programme to upskill its workforce for the digital world.

As part of a transformation agenda to foster a digitally-empowered government workforce, Nigeria is advancing the implementation of its digital Literacy Action Plan for Federal Civil Servants.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is spearheading the plan, in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

A workshop was held this week in Abuja and comprised sessions dedicated to onboarding participants and providing hands-on training on digital tools.

"The workshop serves as a critical platform to accelerate the adoption of digital tools, enhancing productivity and efficiency across the federal civil service," said Dr Ahmad Yusuf Tambuwal, acting director, Digital Literacy and Capacity Building Department.

The Digital Literacy Action Plan for Federal Civil Servants aligns with the Renewed Hope agenda of the government of Nigeria’s president Bola Tinubu, and aims to improve governance and service delivery among government employees.
