Spacecom, operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, has penned a deal with Czech Republic-based telecommunications services provider GiTy to strengthen the delivery of internet connectivity across Africa via C-band capacity.
AMOS-17 is a high throughput satellite designed specifically to meet Africa’s fast-growing communication demands, leveraging its built-in C-Band HTS, Ka-Band and Ku-Band capabilities.
The satellite supports connectivity between Africa, the Middle East, Europe, India and China.
GiTy remains focused on extending the reach of its services to Africa. In order to enter the market and launch services as a telecommunications firm, it required relevant licenses and infrastructure installation in individual countries across the continent.
Contracting capacity on Spacecom’s AMOS-17 satellite allows GiTy to roll out its technology.
In addition to its telecoms and IT offerings, GiTy is also an important Central European satellite operator that operates its own satellite teleport in the Czech Republic using geostationary satellites.
For this deal, GiTy said with its teleport, it will be able to provide services and it guarantees superior functionality to a very large territory.

Spacecom provides broadcast and communication services to EMEA and Asia via direct-to-home (DTH) operators, ISPs, telecom and MNO operators, network integrators and government agencies.
