MTN Uganda executives and company chairman, Charles Mbire, yesterday met with President Yoweri Museveni to discuss how to enhance the East African country's digital agenda.

MTN Uganda CEO, Sylvia Mulinge, said: “Our conversation centered on a shared, vital mission: accelerating Uganda’s digital transformation. We believe everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life. To turn this belief into reality, private-public synergy is essential. “

She thanked the president for granting audience and went on to commend him for “his steadfast commitment to fostering an environment where innovation can thrive as we all work towards driving the digital progress of our people and our country. “

As for Museveni, Mulinge said “His challenge to us was well received, how can we bridge the digital divide, enhance infrastructure, and empower every Ugandan; from the techpreneur in Kampala to the farmer in the rural district, with tools to succeed in a global economy.”

She went to thank the president for what she called an insightful dialogue.

“Moments like today serve as a powerful reminder of the weight and the wonder of leadership. It is an immense privilege to lead in such a pivotal era for the Pearl of Africa; together, we are not just connecting people; we are powering Uganda’s future,” Mulinge said.
