MTN Nigeria has reported a profit after tax (PAT) of N750.2 billion ($517.3 million) for the first nine months ended September 30, 2025.

The telco released its financial report for the first nine months of 2025 yesterday, revealing strong performance across its product suites.

In a statement, MTN Nigeria said: “We reported a PAT of N750.2 billion ($517.3 Million), up by 245.7%, marking a turnaround from the N514.9 billion ($355 million) loss after tax in the prior year.”

Aside from the high profit, the company announced other impressive results, including an increase in overall subscribers by 11.0% to 85.4 million, active data users by 12.8% to 51.1 million, and service revenue by 57.5% to N3.7 trillion ($2.5 billion).

According to Karl Toriola, CEO of MTN Nigeria: “The company has restored its positive earnings and shareholders’ equity positions. This is a significant milestone that demonstrates strong operational momentum and disciplined execution.”

He pointed out that earnings improved to positive N142.7 billion ($98.9 million) from negative N607.5 billion ($423 million), and shareholders' equity to N293.1 billion ($203 million) from negative N458.0 billion ($317 million) the previous year.

Karl stated that this milestone is being supported by a more favourable macroeconomic environment and price adjustments, highlighting that the outcome was driven by the company's strategic and commercial initiatives, commitment to efficiency, and cautious financial management.

He expressed optimism in the resilience of the company’s business model, the strength of execution and its ability to manage and adapt to emerging risks in the future.
