MTN Ghana is going to suspend all Mobile Money (MoMo) services for six hours early on Sunday, August 17. The shutdown runs from midnight to 6:00 a.m. to allow for a major system upgrade.

During this time, clients are unable to conduct MoMo transactions. This includes sending and receiving money, making deposits and withdrawals, paying bills, and transferring funds between wallets and bank accounts, according to the telco.

MTN Ghana encouraged its more than 14 million MoMo customers to complete any essential transactions before midnight to avoid inconvenience.

Charles Asamoah Assah, Chief Technology and Service Delivery Officer at Mobile Money Limited, confirmed to Ghana News the maintenance window.

He claimed that the upgrade intends to improve the platform's reliability and overall performance.

“This upgrade is to improve our services to you.We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding,” he said.
