Ugandan subscribers of MTN can now exchange contact information with the touch of a button immediately after making a call, thanks to the introduction of a service dubbed ‘ContactXchange’.

In a statement, MTN Uganda explains that the SIM based service technology prompts customers to send their contact details after a call.

“The key message here is convenience for our customers,” says MTN Uganda’s chief marketing officer Ernst Fonternel in a statement.

“In the ever fast paced world we live in, it is our role to come up with time saving and yet cost effective solutions that help our customers achieve their goals,” Fonternel said.

ContactXchange can be used to send and receive contact details to and from any mobile phone and is activated through the MTN Menu.

MTN Uganda recorded 8.8 million subscribers across the East African country in December 2013.
