MTN Business has announced the introduction of converged business offers for small and medium businesses (SMEs).

The mobile operator cites a World Wide Worx SME Survey which noted that these types of services and solutions help drive the adoption of ICT by SMEs.

"Connection to the internet can be a make or break for SMEs as it has the potential of curtailing the day to day business operations of an SME," the company has stated.

The converged offering includes MTN Business Broadband, an internet connection with speeds of up to 5 MBPS uncapped.

"One of the inhibitors for SMEs to rely on Cloud services is trust and confidence in the Cloud services providers and related offerings. The second deal that has been introduced is MTN Business Cloud, which offers a Virtual Server that enables SME's to save costs, manage software licensing agreements offering built in security that helps insure business safety."

The company has also added MTN Mobile Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and says it has also re-packaged its "Build Your Business with MTN Online", a website and application service that seeks to provide businesses with an online presence.

Claude Chetty, General Manager for the SME segment at MTN Business South Africa says small businesses are looking for ICT solutions that will enable them to effectively juggle various roles they play in their businesses.

"The SME market has long been lauded as a major economic growth driver in South Africa. The key to our focus on SMEs is not to simply introduce new solutions, but to also look for innovative ways that add value and can best change the way small businesses are positioned in the marketplace so that they can effectively compete and contribute to the economic growth of our country. MTN Business believes that the key to unlocking this growth is through providing leading technology solutions to enable and inspire this growth of our clients," says Chetty.
