Morocco's telco revenues fall

Morocco’s average revenue per minute (ARPM) for mobile operator’s has fallen 21% to MAD 0.62 at the end of June from MAD 0.78 a year earlier, according to the country’s telecom regulator ANRT.

But call traffic has risen 16% in the same period to 67 minutes per customer per month, says ANRT.

ANRT also says that the number of mobile phone subscribers grew to 37.42 million at the end of June, up 7% from June 2011.

Therefore, the country’s mobile penetration rate stands at 115.07% from 112.59 percent in three months. Prepaid mobile customers also account for 95.35% of all users in the country, according to the regulator’s latest report.
