Morocco has unveiled the country’s first 100% domestically designed and built electric vehicle to accelerate its green mobility drive and expand exports to Europe.

Launched by Neo Motors Maroc during the third edition of National Industry Day in Rabat, the E-NEO Dial-E has been hailed as a giant step toward electric mobility in the North African country.

The milestone coincides with the rollout of the “Made in Morocco” label by Industry Minister RyadMezzour which reinforces the country’s ambition to become a continental hub for clean industrial innovation.

The label guarantees products meet strict local content and quality standards, a move aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing and exports.

Morocco’s automotive industry is already one of Africa’s most advanced, home to global manufacturers Renault, Stellantis, and Dacia, whose facilities in Tangier and Kenitra export hundreds of thousands of vehicles annually.

In 2024, the country sold just over 2 000 electric vehicles (EVs), a small but rapidly growing market driven by government incentives and rising fuel prices.

With its E-NEO Dial-E, Neo Motors became the first African automaker to achieve full EU approval under the L7e-CU standard, allowing the vehicle to be sold in Europe.

Nassim Belkhayat, CEO of Neo Motors, revealed that the lightweight urban EV has a top speed of 85 km/h, a 150 km range, and a payload capacity of up to 400 kg. It will retail from around $9 700 (MAD 99 800) when sales begin in January 2026.

“With E-NEO Dial-E, we are proving that Morocco can design and export electric vehicles that meet European standards. It’s more than a vehicle. It is a symbol of Moroccan innovation and industrial confidence,” he said.

Nassim Belkhayat added that this new EV is affordable, accessible and beautifully designed. “It represents our dream to export Moroccan electric vehicles to Europe and beyond,” he stated.

Industry Minister Mezzour praised Neo Motors’ success as “a testament to Morocco’s growing capacity to produce high-value, sustainable technologies.”

He stressed that with strong state backing, global partnerships, and homegrown innovation, the country’s e-mobility ecosystem is entering a new era, powered by local ingenuity and aimed at exporting “Made in Morocco” excellence to the world.
