Intel Security owned McAfee says it has appointed Trevor Coetzee as its regional director for South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to joining McAfee, Coetzee was in a senior management role responsible for the overall commercial and partner channel business for Symantec.

"Trevor brings a proven track record in the industry along with business development and lead generation skills,"said Jan van Vliet, VP Emerging Markets, McAfee EMEA.

"We are delighted to welcome Trevor to the McAfee team. Trevor's leadership will ensure that McAfee will continue to lead the transformation of the security market in this region in 2014."

Coetzee in a statement said, "I have created long-term relationships with resellers, distributors and end-users alike within multiple sectors and feel that the experience I have gained provides me with a good rounded portfolio."
