Malawi has launched regional consultative workshop aimed at developing its first ever National Artificial Intelligence Strategy.

Malawi has initiated regional consultation workshops to develop its first-ever National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy and National digital Transformation Strategy.

This initiative represents a big step forward in leveraging emerging technology to boost inclusive economic growth and improve public service delivery.

The Department of E-Government is leading the strategy development, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme under the Inclusive Digital Transformation for Malawi Project and the Public Private Partnership Commission through the Digital Malawi Acceleration Project.

These two strategic documents will serve as blueprints for Malawi's adoption and governance of AI and digital technologies to establish a robust digital economy, improve service delivery, and promote fair access to digital services across all sectors.

As consultations continue across regions, the strategies are expected to outline a way for Malawi to responsibly embrace AI, bridge the digital divide, and achieve long-term digital transformation across all sectors of the economy.
