Girls Tech Academy continues to transform the lives of young women in Malawi by providing over 500 girls with essential digital skills and leadership potential in the technology industry.

The programme is building an active community in which girls not only learn but also get confidence to engage in the rapidly expanding digital economy.

Designed with inclusivity in mind, the academy offers free, accessible classes that introduce girls to a range of technology sectors, such as coding, game development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, graphic design, information technology, and web development.

The project eliminates financial and social barriers, ensuring girls, regardless of background, have the opportunity to learn and succeed.

CEO and founder for the Academy, Victor Kulupajiri, says the organisation is focused on opening doors for girls and preparing them for real-world opportunities.

“We are exploring opportunities for the girls. We want to see more women participating in the digital economy,” he said, emphasising the importance of increasing female representation in tech.

The academy works with a range of partners, including women-focused organisations, to expand its reach and impact.

It also welcomes companies willing to support training programs and create opportunities for girls to gain practical experience.

Beyond technical skills, Girls Tech Academy emphasises critical thinking and hands-on learning.

Learners are encouraged to explore different areas of technology and uncover their talents through mentoring and hands-on training. This method helps them learn complex concepts while boosting their confidence.
