Pan-African technology group Liquid Intelligent Technologies has appointed Bernard Beya as chief executive officer (CEO) of its Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) operations, effective 1 April 2026, following his tenure as acting CEO since November 2025.
The company announced the appointment on Monday, saying it comes as the DRC continues to accelerate its national digital transformation agenda, drawing significant investment into digital infrastructure, connectivity and skills development.
Liquid said the DRC is one of the fastest-growing and most strategic markets in its African footprint, with Beya's appointment forming part of its broader expansion strategy.
Beya has more than 20 years of leadership experience in telecommunications, including extensive experience in the DRC market. He joined Liquid in September 2022 as chief financial officer.
As acting CEO, he oversaw the organisation's strategic, operational and commercial direction.
The company said his knowledge of the local market and focus on customer success and operational excellence will help advance its plans to expand digital infrastructure and support economic growth across the country.
Commenting on his permanent appointment, Beya said his immediate mandate is to steer the DRC business through its next phase of growth.
"Our priority is to build on the strong operational and financial foundation we have established to deliver greater value for our customers and partners. As a business of Cassava Technologies, we can expand access to reliable connectivity, cloud, cyber security, colocation and AI compute for our customers. We can play a meaningful role in accelerating digital transformation for the country's enterprises, government and communities," said Beya.
