Applications of high-impact South African entrepreneurs wanting to take their solution to the global stage have until Sunday, 5 May, to submit their applications to the Irish Tech Challenge organisers.
The Irish Tech Challenge South Africa is a collaboration between the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa, and South Africa’s Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), and Technology Innovation Agency. The implementing partners are South Africa’s Wits University's Tshimologong Digital Precinct and Dogpatch Labs in Ireland.
Building on the success of previous editions, the 2024 Irish Tech Challenge aims to accelerate the growth of South African-owned technology firms aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Companies focused on green technology, healthcare, education, water sanitation and hygiene are encouraged to apply. The competition seeks to address major global challenges while encouraging economic development and job creation in South Africa.
Startups that participate in the Irish Tech Challenge have access to worldwide networks, mentorship, and experience in technology and entrepreneurship, say the organisers.
Seven selected businesses will benefit from €10,000 in grant financing, a 10-day curated tour to Ireland geared at accessing worldwide clients and partners, access to Irish digital experts, and business acceleration.
