MTN Nigeria and the Lagos State Government have launched a mobile app that will serve as a single platform to enhance city exploration, navigation, entertainment access, and seamless digital payments.

The launch event, which took place yesterday, was attended by Femi Hamzat, Lagos State's deputy governor, MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Olutokun Toriola, and Oluwaseun Osiyemi, commissioner of transportation.

According to MTN, MyLagosApp aligns with the telco's aim of creating the largest and most useful platforms by harnessing technology to promote growth and empower communities.

The app will promote integrated multi-modal transportation in the state and act as an effective means for individuals to communicate with the administration, according to Lagos state.

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation said the app will also provide real-time data on commuters and traffic conditions, allowing for predictive modelling of road infrastructure and providing enough information to assist Lagos citizens in reaching their destinations in the shortest amount of time possible via various modes of transportation.

“The application will provide feedback to the ministry, facilitating the effective implementation of the Lagos State Transport Policy and the subsequent development of relevant road infrastructure,” said the ministry in an update.

“Together, we are shaping the future of Lagos with innovative digital experiences that enhance tourism, city exploration, and seamless digital transactions,” added MTN.
