Global technology firm, Microsoft, has appointed Kunle Awosika to be its country manager for Kenya.
In a statement, the company said Awosika’s appointment as country manager is in line with the reorganisation of its local entities.
Awosika joins the Kenyan operations after having worked for Microsoft Nigeria, where he was director for the enterprise and public sector business in Anglophone West Africa.
“Awosika’s role is in line with the recent restructuring of the Microsoft East and Southern Africa (ESA) region,” Microsoft said in a statement.
In February, Microsoft reviewed its organisation structure in Africa.
Other offices that emerged after the February structure review include Microsoft Angola and Microsoft East and Southern Africa, which encompasses 12 countries including South Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, and Uganda.
The Kenyan office was elevated to an independent outfit.
Microsoft last month announced that it is buying Nokia’s handset unit.
