African e-commerce website JUMIA announced that it will host its first big sale and discount event, Black Friday in Kenya later this month.

Popularly known in the US, Black Friday refers to a retail focused event during which many stores lower their prices for products, give discounts and special offers on the fourth Friday of November.

In a statement JUMIA says different days will have different deals with limited stock and time.

Social networks like Facebook and Twitter will keep customers posted on the latest offers, the statement adds.

Instead of shoppers lining up for hours to access stores, JUMIA will deliver items to the office or doorstep where customers can pay cash on delivery for products.

JUMIA is owned by Africa Internet Holding (AIH).
