Pan-African human resources (HR) tech firm JuiceMe has acquired Ajiraworks, a compliance-led employment company operating across the UK and Kenya, as part of its strategy to expand across the continent.

The acquisition integrates cross-border infrastructure, local market-entry playbooks and compliance frameworks directly into JuiceMe’s cloud-based platform.

According to company leadership, the deal provides a significant head start by embedding proven operational assets that would otherwise have taken years to build organically.

As part of the transaction, Ajiraworks founder Catherine Ochako joins JuiceMe as a board member, shareholder and global director of employer of record (EOR) services.

JuiceMe said Ochako brings more than a decade of experience building global HR pipelines.

Prior to founding Ajiraworks, she designed and deployed cross-border EOR systems spanning 29 international markets, managing remote teams across the UK, South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya, the company said in a statement.

In her new role, she will be responsible for developing a structured employment layer to modernise regional recruitment.

Ajiraworks was established to address systemic challenges faced by companies entering African markets, including fragmented regulation, inconsistent payroll systems and limited local infrastructure.

By integrating these frameworks, JuiceMe aims to enable international enterprises to hire, pay and manage regional talent with full compliance and operational consistency.

Commenting on the acquisition, Ochako said companies often prioritise speed when entering new markets, but without the right structure, rapid expansion can introduce operational risk.

“Often, companies focus heavily on speed when entering new markets. But without the right structure, that growth introduces risk. The real opportunity is to build systems that allow companies to scale quickly while staying compliant and in control. JuiceMe’s acquisition of Ajiraworks will allow us to achieve exactly that,” she said.

JuiceMe co-founder Lawrence Diamond described the deal as a deliberate step to accelerate the company’s pan-African footprint.

He said Ochako and her team have already solved many of the most complex operational and compliance challenges in cross-border employment.

By integrating that expertise into the JuiceMe platform, Diamond said the company is strengthening its expansion with the structure, reliability and local insight needed to scale across the continent.
